The fifth-generation Ford F-Series (nicknamed 'Bumpside' for its prominent side body crease) ran from 1967 to 1972. Built on an expanded platform, the cab grew wider and featured improved ergonomics, soundproofing, and optional factory air conditioning. Premium Ranger and Ranger XLT trims elevated pickup luxury standards.
Engine offerings retained the reliable 240 ci and 300 ci inline-sixes alongside FE-block V8 engines including 352 ci, 360 ci, and 390 ci (6.4L) options. Twin-I-Beam front suspension remained standard on 4x2 models. A 1970 facelift introduced a twin-section grille design and upgraded interior appointments.
