The first generation of the Ford F-Series (F-1) is the legendary 'Bonus-Built' truck lineup produced from 1948 to 1952.

The first generation of the Ford F-Series (designated 'Bonus-Built') debuted in 1948 as Ford's first dedicated post-WWII truck chassis platform. The half-ton light-duty model was designated the Ford F-1. The truck introduced integrated headlights, a one-piece windshield, the wider 'Million Dollar Cab', and a bold horizontal bar front grille.

Engine choices included a 226 ci (3.7L) Flathead inline-six (95 hp) and the famous 239 ci (3.9L) Flathead V8 (100 hp), mated to 3-speed or 4-speed manual gearboxes. A 1951 redesign introduced a restyled front snout grille and a larger rear window. Production ran through the 1952 model year.
