Introduced in May 1995, the eighth-generation Corolla (E110) prioritized weight reduction and production efficiency. Toyota designed distinctive front and rear styling for different regions: Japan retained conservative lines, North America received a sleek angular sedan, while European models gained bold round dual headlights in 1997. Available body styles encompassed four-door sedans, three-door and five-door hatchbacks, five-door station wagons, and the Levin coupe. Full-time all-wheel drive remained available on selected trims.
