The eighth-generation Suzuki Alto (HA36S) was manufactured from 2014 to 2021 featuring lightweight construction.

Debuting in December 2014 to commemorate the badge's 35th anniversary, the eighth-generation Suzuki Alto (HA36S series) showcased a minimalist retro-futuristic exterior style. Built on a new lightweight platform, curb weight was reduced by 60 kg (starting at just 610 kg). In 2015, Suzuki revived the Alto Turbo RS and iconic Alto Works performance trims, featuring a 64 hp turbo engine, Recaro seats, and a short-throw 5-speed manual gearbox.

Powertrains relied on the 660 cc R06A three-cylinder engine producing 49–52 hp naturally aspirated or 64 hp with turbocharging. Transmissions included a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AGS automated manual, or a CVT automatic, paired with FWD or 4WD.
