Unveiled in December 2009, the seventh-generation Suzuki Alto (HA25S series) adopted a sleeker exterior silhouette with a 2,400 mm wheelbase. In late 2011, Suzuki introduced the ultra-efficient Alto Eco variant (HA35S series) equipped with an idle stop-start system, kinetic energy recovery, and a CVT, delivering a fuel efficiency rating of 30.0 km/L (3.3 L/100 km).
Engine offerings started with the 657 cc K6A engine (54 hp), transitioning to the newer R06A three-cylinder engine (52 hp) for Alto Eco models. Transmissions comprised a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, or Jatco CVT automatic, with front-wheel-drive or 4WD layouts.
