Released in July 1994, the V40 series was the final iteration of the narrow-body Camry designed specifically for Japan's domestic taxation tier. Maintaining a sub-1700 mm overall width, the V40 grew slightly longer to offer expanded rear passenger room. Body choices included a classic four-door sedan and the frameless Vista hardtop. Structural enhancements improved crash protection, backed by dual airbags and ABS brakes. Engineers paid meticulous attention to structural body rigidity, minimizing noise, vibration, and harshness levels while enhancing cabin material quality.
