Seventh generation Toyota Mark II (X90 series) featuring the iconic Tourer V sport trim with 1JZ-GTE turbo power and weight-optimized chassis design.
The seventh generation Toyota Mark II (X90 series) debuted in October 1992, featuring a completely redesigned aerodynamic body with an extended 2,730 mm wheelbase. Built with extensive use of high-tensile steel, the X90 achieved greater structural stiffness while curbing overall vehicle weight. Offered exclusively as a sleek four-door sedan with frameless door windows, the interior featured an ergonomic wraparound dashboard layout, standard driver airbags, optional digital instrumentation, and supportive sports seats.
The X90 lineup restructured its trim hierarchy, introducing the legendary Tourer V sports model powered by a 280-horsepower twin-turbo 2.5-liter 1JZ-GTE inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. Naturally aspirated choices included the 3.0-liter 2JZ-GE (220 hp), 2.5-liter 1JZ-GE (180 hp), 2.0-liter 1G-FE (135 hp), 1.8-liter 4S-FE, and a 2.4-liter 2L-TE turbodiesel. Four-wheel-drive models utilized Toyota's advanced i-Four system. A 1994 mid-cycle update brought subtle changes to the front grille mesh, front bumper ducts, and rear taillight graphics.
