The ninth and final generation Toyota Mark II (X110 series) debuted in October 2000, engineered on the Toyota Crown S170 chassis. The body gained 60 mm in height, adopting a more dignified executive profile with elevated seating positions and an expanded cabin. Offered initially as a four-door sedan, the range expanded in 2002 with the addition of the sport-themed Mark II Blit station wagon featuring aggressive front-end styling. The opulent interior was equipped with woodgrain trim, DVD-based EMV navigation, power-adjustable seating, and adjustable pedals.

The flagship performance model was renamed the iR-V, continuing to employ the 280-horsepower 2.5-liter 1JZ-GTE turbo engine paired with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. Naturally aspirated variants adopted D-4 direct fuel injection, including the 2.5-liter 1JZ-FSE (200 hp) and 2.0-liter 1G-FE (160 hp), while all-wheel-drive iR-S Four models retained the 1JZ-GE. A mid-cycle refresh in 2002 revised the front grille and light clusters. Production ended in 2004 as the model line evolved into the Toyota Mark X.
