The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux is built on an updated body-on-frame platform, serving as a core pillar of the manufacturer's diversified powertrain strategy. Offered across conventional cab layouts including Single, Extra, and Double Cab, the truck gains an overhauled interior featuring a 12.3-inch driver's combimeter, modern multimedia interface, refined steering ergonomics, and dedicated grouped controls for the four-wheel-drive system.
The mechanical lineup encompasses traditional petrol and diesel engines, a 48V mild-hybrid diesel, a dual-motor battery-electric (BEV) configuration, and a planned hydrogen fuel-cell (FCEV) variant. The hydrogen model adapts fuel-cell technology from the Mirai sedan to generate electricity on demand, delivering a targeted WLTP range of 248 miles and 2,500 kg towing capacity while venting only water vapor.
Compared to the eighth-generation Hilux, the redesigned pickup introduces advanced digital features, superior chassis refinement, and zero-emission operational flexibility for fleet customers.
