The sixth-generation Cadillac Eldorado was manufactured during the 1963 and 1964 model years using GM's C-body chassis architecture. Continuing solely as the Biarritz convertible, it presented clean razor-edge body sculpting with vertical dual headlights, flat door surfaces, and subtle rear fin ridges. The 1964 model year introduced a body-color front grille and full-length stainless steel rocker moldings. This generation marked the final evolution of the traditional rear-wheel-drive open Eldorado platform before a radical mechanical redesign transformed the brand's flagships.

In 1963, Cadillac debuted an entirely new, lightweight 390 cubic-inch (6.4-liter) V8 engine generating 325 horsepower, which expanded to 429 cubic inches (7.0 liters) producing 340 horsepower for 1964. The 1964 model also introduced GM's refined three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic (TH400) automatic transmission. Available luxury conveniences included Comfort Control automatic heating and air conditioning, a tilt steering wheel, premium leather bench seating, and power front seat controls.
