The tenth-generation Cadillac Eldorado was produced from 1979 through 1985 on GM's downsized front-wheel-drive E-body architecture. Shedding over 1,100 pounds of weight and 20 inches of overall length, it maintained cabin room by implementing independent rear suspension. In 1984, a factory-authorized convertible option returned to the lineup, converted by ASC.
