Suzuki Wagon R II (MC) gallery (1998–2003)

The second-generation Suzuki Wagon R (MC series) tall hatchback was produced from 1998 to 2003.

Launched in October 1998, the second-generation Suzuki Wagon R (MC series) was expanded to comply with revised Japanese kei-car regulations, which added 100 mm of body length and 80 mm of width. The exterior transitioned to rounded body styling and standardized a symmetrical 5-door configuration. Safety was enhanced with enlarged crash deformation zones and available dual airbags.

Powertrains included 657 cc F6A (SOHC) and DOHC K6A three-cylinder engines, offered in naturally aspirated or turbocharged (up to 64 hp for the performance Wagon R RR model) forms. Drive options included front-wheel drive and full-time 4WD paired with manual or column-mounted automatic gearboxes. Flexible seating arrangements allowed the rear seats to fold flat for expanded cargo capacity.
