The second-generation Mitsubishi Lancer, marketed as the Lancer EX under factory code A170, was introduced in 1979. Offered solely as a four-door sedan, the vehicle targeted improved passenger space, reduced aerodynamic drag, and lower cabin noise vibration levels through enhanced soundproofing materials.
