Debuting in late 2021, the U06 2 Series Active Tourer brought a comprehensive high-tech makeover to BMW's compact MPV family. Building on the modernized FAAR front-wheel-drive architecture, the vehicle introduced clean exterior surfacing, flush integrated door handles, and an assertive front kidney grille. Inside, the cabin set a new digital benchmark for the class by integrating the seamless BMW Curved Display while dispensing with the traditional physical iDrive controller in favor of touch and voice commands.

Powertrains were updated with 48V mild-hybrid technology across petrol and diesel options, alongside advanced plug-in hybrid variants like the 230e xDrive delivering over 300 combined horsepower. With expanded shoulder room, sliding rear seating, and improved acoustic refinement, the U06 reinforced BMW's commitment to delivering premium tech-focused family transportation. It continues to serve as an attractive gateway into the BMW brand for drivers seeking practical space without compromising on advanced modern connectivity.
