Sixth generation Toyota Hiace (H300 series) introducing a semi-bonnet body layout for enhanced occupant safety and 2.8 D-4D turbodiesel power.
The sixth generation international Toyota Hiace family (H300 series) launched in the Philippines in February 2019. Executing a major architectural shift, the H300 transitioned from the historic cab-over design to a semi-bonnet body layout. Moving the engine forward of the front axle dramatically improved front crash safety performance while reducing noise, vibration, and thermal intrusion into the passenger cabin. The line offers standard- and high-roof variants as panel cargo vans and spacious Commuter/Turismo minibuses seating 12 to 17 passengers.
The modern interior features an ergonomic dash with a 7-inch touchscreen, multi-function steering wheel, and improved occupant seating support. Engine choices comprise a 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV common-rail turbodiesel producing 156–177 horsepower and a 3.5-liter 7GR-FKS V6 gasoline engine delivering 277 horsepower. Transmissions are six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearboxes driving the rear wheels. Standard safety includes Toyota Safety Sense active collision avoidance.
