About this generation

The fourth-generation Suzuki Swift (AZG/ZC72S) was produced from 2010 to 2017 with refined dynamics and improved efficiency.

Launched in September 2010, the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift (AZG series, ZC72S chassis) retained the iconic silhouette of its predecessor while receiving a completely re-engineered architecture. The wheelbase was lengthened by 50 mm, expanding legroom, while extensive adoption of high-tensile steel reduced overall curb weight and increased torsional rigidity. The structural improvements earned the car a maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Powertrains shifted toward higher efficiency with a new 1.2-liter K12B Dual VVT gasoline engine producing 94 hp, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The 1.3-liter DDiS turbodiesel engine was updated for lower emissions. The Swift Sport (ZC32S), introduced in late 2011, upgraded to a 136 hp 1.6-liter engine mated to a new 6-speed manual transmission. A minor facelift in 2013 added L-shaped LED daytime running lights, refreshed bumper designs, and new interior trim materials.
