The ninth-generation Honda Civic (FB/FK) debuted in April 2011. While evolutionary in styling, it featured a more rigid body frame, reduced aerodynamic drag, and elevated acoustic dampening. Available body styles spanned a four-door sedan, two-door coupe, three/five-door hatchbacks, and the spacious Civic Tourer wagon.

Powertrains comprised 1.4L, 1.8L i-VTEC (142 hp), 2.4L for the Si coupe (201 hp), 1.6L and 2.2L i-DTEC turbodiesels (120-150 hp), and an upgraded Lithium-ion battery Civic Hybrid. Eco Assist technology with ECON mode came standard across trims. A 2014 facelift brought a bolder front grille, sportier bumpers, and upgraded touchscreen infotainment.
