Honda Civic III (AH/AK) photos

The third-generation Honda Civic (AH/AK/AG/AJ) launched in September 1983, embodying Honda's 'Man Maximum, Machine Minimum' packaging principle. The lineup expanded into distinct body identities: a tall-tail three-door hatchback, a notchback sedan, the tall-roof Civic Shuttle wagon, and the aerodynamic CR-X coupe. The chassis utilized a torsion beam front suspension and rear beam axle.

Engine offerings introduced 1.3-liter EV (60–71 hp) and 1.5-liter EW (76–100 hp) 12-valve engines, crowned by the Si variant featuring a 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve ZC engine (135 hp). The Civic Shuttle introduced Honda's push-button Real Time 4WD system. A mid-cycle refresh in 1985 updated light clusters, bumpers, and interior control layouts.
