Honda Civic VI (EJ/EK) photos

The sixth-generation Honda Civic (EJ/EK/EM) debuted in September 1995 with sharper exterior lines, larger headlights, and higher structural rigidity. The model range comprised a 3-door hatchback, 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, 5-door hatchback, and European AeroDeck station wagon. It retained a tuned double-wishbone suspension setup.

Powertrains spanned 1.4-liter to 1.6-liter D-series and B-series engines (75 to 185 hp), featuring Honda's Multimatic CVT. In 1997, Honda introduced the landmark first-generation Civic Type R (EK9), featuring a hand-ported 1.6-liter B16B engine (185 hp), LSD, chassis seam-welding, and Recaro bucket seats. A 1998 facelift reshaped the front grille, headlights, and bumpers.
