The seventh-generation Honda Civic was produced from 2000 to 2005, adopting front MacPherson struts and a space-efficient MPV-like layout.

The seventh-generation Honda Civic (EU/EP/ES/EM) premiered in September 2000, marking a structural redesign. It transitioned from a front double-wishbone to a MacPherson strut layout to maximize cabin volume, creating a flat rear floor and dash-mounted gear lever in hatchbacks. Body variants included 3-door and 5-door hatchbacks, a 4-door sedan, and a 2-door coupe.

Engine offerings featured 1.4L, 1.6L, 1.7L, and 2.0L engines (90 to 200 hp), crowned by the European EP3 Type R (200 hp K20A2). This generation launched the Civic Hybrid featuring Honda's IMA system (1.3L petrol engine + electric motor) and introduced a 1.7L CTDi turbodiesel for Europe.
