The seventh-generation Cadillac Series 62 was manufactured from 1961 through 1964 on GM's C-body platform. Styled under Bill Mitchell with clean lines, reduced fins, and rocker skeg fins. Offered in hardtop sedans, coupes, and convertibles. For 1965, the series was renamed the Cadillac Calais. Styled under Bill Mitchell, the body showcased crisp tailored planes, reduced tailfins, and lower rocker skeg fins. Offered in hardtop sedan, coupe, and convertible body configurations until 1964.
Initial models used the 390 V8 (325 hp), upgraded in 1964 to a 429 cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 (340 hp) with a 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic. Features included power steering, power drum brakes, and Comfort Control climate system. Standard and available equipment included power steering, power drum brakes, power window controls, power seat adjustment, and premium interior upholstery appointments.
