Buick Le Sabre VII (H-body) gallery (1992–1999)

The seventh-generation Buick LeSabre arrived in 1992, resting on an extensively redesigned front-wheel-drive GM H-body platform. Styling was transformed with smooth, aerodynamic contours, integrated bumpers, and flush glass surfaces that substantially reduced wind noise and improved high-speed stability. Available solely as a six-passenger four-door sedan in Custom and upscale Limited trims, it quickly became America best-selling full-size car. Under the hood, it was initially equipped with the 3.8-liter Buick 3800 Series I V6 engine producing 170 horsepower, which was superseded in 1996 by the acclaimed 3800 Series II V6 generating 205 horsepower. Power was routed through the electronically controlled four-speed 4T60-E and subsequent 4T65-E automatic transmissions. A major mid-cycle refresh in 1997 brought a revised front grille integrated into the hood, updated front and rear fascias, and modernized interior switchgear. The vehicle earned top marks in J.D. Power customer satisfaction and reliability surveys across North America.
