The third-generation Buick LeSabre was manufactured from 1965 to 1970, introducing flowing Coke-bottle body curves and fastback rooflines on two-door hardtop coupes. This generation shifted to a full perimeter frame on the GM B-body chassis, substantially improving passenger ride isolation, structural rigidity, and crash safety compared to previous X-frame designs. Available body styles comprised two-door hardtop coupes, two-door convertibles, four-door pillared sedans, and four-door hardtops. Engine options evolved dramatically over the generation lifespan, beginning with the 300 and 340 cubic-inch V8 powerplants and culminating in the introduction of the modern Buick 350 cubic-inch (5.7-liter) small-block V8 and the potent 455 cubic-inch (7.5-liter) big-block V8 delivering effortless torque. Transmission offerings were dominated by GM highly dependable Super Turbine and three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmissions.
