The seventh T7 Multivan shifted to the passenger MQB Evo platform, introducing eHybrid plug-in power and a flexible rail seating system.

The Volkswagen Multivan T7 (ST) premiered in June 2021. For the first time, the passenger-focused Multivan split from the traditional commercial van platform, migrating to the passenger MQB Evo architecture. Its exterior achieved a drag coefficient of 0.30, featuring double A-pillars, optional IQ.Light LEDs, and a flat interior floor with modular rail-mounted seating.

In 2024, Volkswagen launched the companion Transporter T7 commercial van co-developed with Ford. Multivan T7 powertrains include 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI petrols, 2.0 TDI turbodiesels, and an eHybrid plug-in hybrid system producing 218 hp linked to a 6-speed DSG.
