Volkswagen Transporter T2 gallery (1967–1979)

The second Transporter T2 introduced a single bay windshield, sliding side doors, and more powerful Type 4 engines.

The Volkswagen Transporter T2 (Type 2 T2) arrived in late 1967. Retaining a rear-mounted engine, it introduced a whole new bodyshell with a single panoramic windshield ('Bay Window') and a sliding side door as standard. The chassis incorporated improved torsion bars and anti-roll bars, substantially improving highway stability over the T1.

Engine selections included 1.6-liter air-cooled flat-fours alongside larger 1.7, 1.8, and 2.0-liter Type 4 engines delivering up to 70 hp. German T2 production ended in 1979, but localized assembly in Brazil under the T2c nameplate continued all the way until 2013.
