FAW-Volkswagen Reveals ID. Aura L5 Electric Liftback With Up to 310 kW

The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture has unveiled the design and key technical specifications of the new ID. Aura L5 electric liftback. Based on the 2025 ID. Aura concept car, the vehicle becomes the second production model in the Aura lineup following the T6 crossover, as well as the first electric liftback in this family.

The exterior of the newcomer combines restrained lines with expressive details. The overall body length is 4,883 mm, the width is 1,881 mm (1,915 mm in certain versions), the height is 1,506 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2,820 mm. The claimed interior space utilization efficiency rate is 84.4%. On the outside, the car stands out with frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, a U-shaped front LED light bar, and taillights with a three-dimensional pattern. The options list includes a roof-mounted lidar, panoramic glass, and front fender cameras. The exterior color palette features six options: white, gray, silver, purple, gold, and blue.

Technically, the Volkswagen ID. Aura L5 is underpinned by the CMP (Compact Main Platform) developed specifically for the Chinese market, paired with the new CEA electronic architecture. Buyers will be offered two variants: a base rear-wheel-drive version with a single 155 kW electric motor, and an all-wheel-drive dual-motor version with a combined output of 310 kW. Power is supplied by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) traction battery, though its exact capacity and estimated driving range have not yet been specified. Details regarding equipment, interior styling, and full specifications will be announced closer to the model's official debut.
