About this generation
The first generation of the CMP-based electric liftback featuring rear- or all-wheel drive with power outputs from 155 to 310 kW.
The first generation of the Volkswagen ID. Aura L5 liftback is built on the China-dedicated CMP (Compact Main Platform) combined with the CEA electronic architecture. Its five-door body features a sleek profile with frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, a U-shaped front LED light bar, and three-dimensional taillights. The vehicle measures 4,883 mm in length, 1,881 mm in width (up to 1,915 mm depending on the trim), and 1,506 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The claimed interior space utilization efficiency reaches 84.4%.
Buyers are offered two pure-electric powertrain variants. The entry-level rear-wheel-drive version is equipped with a single electric motor producing 155 kW, while the all-wheel-drive model features a dual-motor setup delivering a combined output of 310 kW. Both variants draw energy from a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Available features include panoramic glass, front fender cameras, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor for automated driving functions, and a choice of six exterior paint colors.
