The fourth generation Toyota Alphard luxury MPV (AH40 series) launched in June 2023. Engineered on Toyota's TNGA-K platform, the new chassis yielded a 50% increase in torsional rigidity and reduced cabin noise and vibration by up to two-thirds over the outgoing generation. The exterior design presented an impressive mesh front grille integrating hidden LED daytime running lights alongside seamless side body panels. Interior innovations debuted a Super-Long Overhead Console integrating lighting and climate controls, alongside upgraded second-row VIP recliners with memory massage functions.
Powertrain technology centers on Toyota Hybrid System II pairing a 2.5-liter A25A-FXS Dynamic Force engine with electric drive delivering 250 total system horsepower (FWD or E-Four AWD), alongside a 2.4-liter T24A-FTS turbocharged engine producing 279 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic. Highlights include power-deployable Universal Steps, frequency-sensitive shock absorbers, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
