The third generation Toyota Alphard luxury MPV (AH30 series) made its global premiere in January 2015. The exterior commanded instant attention with a bold shield-shaped chrome front grille integrated into a sculpted bumper apron with narrow LED headlights. Engineering advances included a newly developed double-wishbone independent rear suspension layout that dramatically refined ride comfort and chassis control. The ultra-luxurious Executive Lounge trim featured expansive second-row captain's chairs upholstered in Semi-Aniline leather, retractable wooden tables, and a 17-speaker JBL sound system.
Powertrains comprised a 2.5-liter 2AR-FE four-cylinder (182 hp) with a CVT, a 3.5-liter 2GR-FE V6 (275 hp, upgraded in late 2017 to a 301-hp 2GR-FKS V6 paired with an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic), and a 2.5-liter Hybrid with E-Four electric AWD (197 total system hp). A major late-2017 facelift refined the front grille mesh and introduced standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 across all models.
