The third-generation Suzuki Escudo (TD54W) was produced in Japan from 2005 to 2017.

Launching in Japan in May 2005, the third-generation Suzuki Escudo (TD54W series) adopted a unibody structure with an integrated ladder frame and four-wheel independent multi-link suspension. Drivetrain technology transitioned to full-time 4WD featuring a lockable center differential and low-range transfer gears managed via a dashboard rotary switch.

Initial engines for Japan were a 2.0-liter four-cylinder (145 hp) and a 2.7-liter V6 (184 hp). A major 2008 mechanical refresh added 2.4-liter VVT (166 hp) and 3.2-liter V6 (224 hp) engines alongside rear disc brakes. Domestic Japanese production ended in 2017.
