About this generation

The fourth generation of the Kia Sportage crossover with high safety ratings, T-GDI turbo engines, and DCT dual-clutch transmission. The model combines proven engineering reliability, refined.

The fourth-generation Kia Sportage (QL) debuted in September 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its styling featured high-set headlights above a prominent Tiger Nose grille and Ice Cube quad LED fog lamps on top-tier trims. Body length grew by 40 mm to 4,480 mm and the wheelbase extended to 2,670 mm, while aerodynamic drag dropped to 0.33 Cd. Advanced high-strength steel content rose to 51%, securing a top 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. This generation of the Sportage (QL) was produced from 2015 to 2021 and offered in внедорожник body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.

Engine options highlighted a new 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine (177 hp) paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), alongside naturally aspirated 2.0L units and 1.7L/2.0L CRDi diesels (up to 185 hp). A sporty GT-Line trim was introduced for the first time. A 2018 facelift added a 48V EcoDynamics+ mild-hybrid diesel powertrain, restyled bumpers with chrome accents, and updated infotainment. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions.
