About this generation

The seventh-generation Honda Accord was produced from 2002 to 2008, earning acclaim for its athletic design and i-VTEC powertrains.

The seventh-generation Honda Accord (CL/CM) premiered in late 2002. European and Japanese specifications adopted an aggressive, aerodynamic body (Cd 0.26) available as a sedan and Tourer wagon. North America received a larger distinct body style in sedan and coupe forms (which served as the basis for the Acura TSX in North America).

Engine offerings introduced advanced K-series four-cylinder engines: a 2.0-liter K20A (155 hp) and a 2.4-liter K24A (190 hp) featuring i-VTEC variable valve timing, alongside Honda's first proprietary 2.2-liter i-CTDi turbodiesel (140 hp). The Japanese market enjoyed an AWD layout and the track-tuned Euro R (220 hp, 6-speed manual). A 2005 facelift brought revised front and rear styling, updated instrumentation, and enhanced safety tech.
