Honda Accord III (CA) photos

The third-generation Honda Accord (CA) debuted in 1985, introducing advanced engineering solutions. The body lineup expanded to include a four-door sedan, three-door hatchback, a sleek three-door AeroDeck shooting brake, and a two-door coupe designed in North America. Pop-up headlights gave the vehicle a low-slung, sporty profile on international markets. Engineering highlights included a race-inspired double-wishbone suspension setup on both axles, providing superior handling balance.

Engine choices comprised 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter 12-valve and 16-valve A-series and B-series engines, outputting between 88 and 160 horsepower with options for carburetors or PGM-FI fuel injection. A mid-cycle refresh in 1987 updated lighting elements and interior materials. The third-generation Accord earned the prestigious Japan Car of the Year award in 1985.
