About this generation

The sixth-generation Honda Accord was produced from 1997 to 2002, feature-split into regional specification platforms for Japan, Europe, and North America.

The sixth-generation Honda Accord (CG/CH/CL/CK) arrived in 1997 with distinct vehicle architectures engineered for main global markets. The Japanese specification featured a compact body housing the performance Euro R variant (H22A engine, 220 hp). European models were built in Swindon, UK, as a sedan and five-door hatchback. North American models featured a wider body in sedan and coupe configurations.

Powertrains spanned 1.8-liter, 2.0-liter, and 2.3-liter F-series four-cylinder engines, alongside a performance 2.2-liter DOHC VTEC unit and a 3.0-liter J30A V6 (200 hp) for America. European markets received a 2.0-liter Rover-sourced turbodiesel engine. A 2000 facelift updated body bumpers, front lighting layout, and interior trim.
