Geely Emgrand L I (FE-5) gallery (2016–2021)
The first generation of the series represented by the Geely Emgrand GL offered enhanced cabin comfort, extended length, and top level safety features.
The first generation of this sedan lineup was manufactured between 2016 and 2021 under the Geely Emgrand GL nameplate with factory code FE-5. The GL designation indicated a lengthened wheelbase and higher comfort specification compared to the standard Emgrand. Built on an upgraded FE platform, power was provided by a series of petrol engines including 1.3L Turbo 132 hp, 1.8L 133 hp, 1.4L Turbo 141 hp, and 1.5L Turbo 177 hp, coupled with 6-speed manual, 6DCT, or CVT transmissions. An all-electric version named Emgrand EV Pro was also produced. The extended wheelbase offered superior rear legroom for passengers, bringing interior comfort metrics close to higher executive segment standards. The car featured refined styling, soft touch interior finishes, GKUI connected infotainment, and automated braking systems, becoming a key volume model across domestic and overseas automotive sales channels.
