Geely Monjaro Plus Revealed: Extended Flagship with Rear-Wheel Steering

Chinese automaker Geely has officially unveiled photos of the new flagship Xingyue L Plus crossover. In overseas markets, this vehicle will be sold under the name Monjaro Plus, positioned as an enlarged and more upscale modification of the popular crossover.

The main difference between the new model and the standard Monjaro lies in its significantly increased dimensions: the body length has increased by 160 mm to 4955 mm, the width has increased by 65 mm (up to 1960 mm), the height has grown by 80 mm to 1769 mm, and the wheelbase is 2900 mm. Such parameters bring the model closer to the full-size SUV segment. The exterior has retained the recognizable signature style, but received a number of distinctive accents: a massive radiator grille with vertical chrome slats, a continuous strip of rear lights spanning the entire width of the tailgate, and original 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels. More chrome elements have appeared in the body trim, a lidar is installed on the roof for autopilot systems and electronic assistants, and a two-tone paint finish in the style of Mercedes-Maybach is available as an option.

The engine lineup of the Geely Monjaro Plus has been revised and includes gasoline and hybrid options. The base gasoline version is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 290 hp, working in combination with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The hybrid modification is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with an output of 218 hp, the electric powertrain specifications of which the manufacturer is currently keeping under wraps. In addition, adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering have been announced for the flagship crossover.
