Updated Geely EX5 electric crossover switches to rear-wheel drive and 333 hp

Geely has officially launched the updated Geely EX5 electric crossover in the Chinese market. According to CarNewsChina, the facelifted model is offered in five trim levels priced from 97,800 to 137,800 yuan, which as of September 25, 2026, is equivalent to approximately 1.2–1.7 million rubles.

The main changes concern the technical part of the model. The crossover switched from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and received a new electric motor producing 333 hp instead of the previous 218 hp. In addition, the electric car was equipped with an upgraded traction battery. Depending on the version, the range of the Geely EX5 varies from 530 to 635 km, and the top speed reaches 201 km/h.

The new Geely EX5 is built on an 800-volt architecture. Thanks to fast charging support, replenishing the battery up to 80% takes about 10 minutes. The vehicle is also equipped with the advanced Qianli Haohan 5 driver assistance system suite.

Earlier, Geely introduced electric vehicle charging technology with a record peak power of 2,250 kW.

In Russia, the pre-facelift Geely EX5 has been officially sold since 2025. Currently, two versions are available on the domestic market at a price starting from 4,169,990 rubles excluding discounts. The car comes equipped with a 218-hp motor on the front axle and has a range of up to 430 km. Whether the updated version will appear in Russia remains unknown: the brand's official representative office does not comment on product plans.
