The first-generation Volkswagen Lavida compact sedan premiered at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show, developed specifically for China by SAIC-Volkswagen. Constructed on an updated PQ34 platform, the Lavida offered clean corporate styling, robust engineering, and low ownership costs.
Engines included 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinders alongside a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged unit, paired with five-speed manual, six-speed automatic, or seven-speed DSG gearboxes.
