The first generation of the Volkswagen ID. Tiguan, introduced for the 2027 model year, is built upon the Volkswagen Group's dedicated MEB electric architecture. Representing a comprehensive evolution of the ID.4 electric crossover, the vehicle adopts the Tiguan designation and is offered exclusively in a five-door SUV body style, with the coupe-styled ID.5 variant officially discontinued. The model features all-electric drivetrains, retaining the footprint of its predecessor while introducing substantial technical and ergonomic improvements.

Visual updates include redesigned front and rear lighting signatures inspired by the ID.3 Neo and ID. Polo, giving the crossover a squarer and more athletic stance while maintaining its original silhouette. Crucial advancements are implemented inside the cabin, marking Volkswagen's return to traditional physical switchgear. The interior features real tactile buttons beneath the central touchscreen, eliminating the previous touch sliders, a significantly larger digital instrument display, physical steering wheel buttons, dedicated window switches for all doors, and a rotary volume knob located on the center console.
