Volkswagen Derby III (Typ 6KV) gallery (1995–2009)

The third-generation Volkswagen Derby (Typ 6KV) was a subcompact sedan produced in Mexico from 1995 to 2009 based on the SEAT Cordoba.

Volkswagen revived the Derby nameplate in 1995 for a third generation (body code Typ 6KV) produced in Puebla, Mexico. This model was a rebadged version of the first-generation SEAT Cordoba sedan built on the A03 (Polo Mk3) platform. The four-door Derby III achieved strong market success across Latin America due to its robust build and spacious boot capacity.

Engine offerings included 1.8-liter (90 hp), 2.0-liter (115 hp), and 1.6-liter gasoline four-cylinders, alongside a 1.9-liter naturally aspirated SDI diesel. Power was handled by a five-speed manual transmission. A cosmetic refresh in 2002 updated front lighting and interior trims before production ceased in 2009.
