The Volkswagen Caddy II (Typ 9K) launched in November 1995. Co-developed alongside the SEAT Inca on the Polo III / Ibiza II platform, it introduced a spacious cubed cargo box with asymmetrical rear wing doors providing 2.9 cubic meters of load volume. A companion Caddy Pickup (Typ 9U) based on the Skoda Felicia was also offered.
Powertrain options encompassed 1.4 and 1.6-liter petrol engines, plus 1.9 D, 1.9 SDI, and 1.9 TDI direct-injection turbodiesels known for high mileage reliability.
