The third Caddy adopted Golf V PQ35 chassis components, offering the Caddy Life passenger van and long-wheelbase Maxi.

The Volkswagen Caddy III (Typ 2K) launched in late 2003. Built on the PQ35 platform sharing front suspension architecture with the Touran and Golf V, it elevated commercial and passenger vehicle standards. Available configurations ranged from Kasten cargo vans to Caddy Life passenger MPVs and the extended Caddy Maxi. Major facelifts arrived in 2010 and 2015.

Engine choices featured 1.2/1.4 TSI, 1.6 MPI, and 1.6/1.9/2.0 TDI turbodiesels, alongside CNG EcoFuel options. DSG gearboxes and 4Motion AWD were offered across multiple trim lines.
