About this generation

The second-generation Amarok was co-developed with Ford on the T6.6 platform, offering 3.0 V6 TDI engines and 10-speed automatics.

The Volkswagen Amarok II (Typ N1) debuted in July 2022. Built in partnership with Ford on the T6.6 ladder-frame architecture shared with the Ranger, it is produced in Silverton, South Africa. Overall length grew by 96 mm with a 173 mm wheelbase expansion, improving off-road approach angles in its Double Cab layout.

Tech highlights include a vertical 12-inch touchscreen, Digital Cockpit displays, and IQ.Light LEDs. Engines feature 2.0 TDI and 3.0 V6 TDI diesels alongside a 2.3 TSI petrol unit paired with a 10-speed automatic.
