Volkswagen Amarok III gallery (2027–present)

The third generation of the Volkswagen Amarok mid-size body-on-frame pickup truck was engineered specifically for the South American market. Unlike the global second-generation model built on the Ford Ranger platform, this regional variant is based on an architecture shared with China's SAIC Motor, underpinning the Maxus Interstellar X (LDV Terron 9). Assembly is slated for the Volkswagen factory in General Pacheco, Argentina, where it replaces the first-generation platform in production.

The vehicle features substantially larger dimensions than the original truck, measuring approximately 5.5 meters in length and 2.01 meters in width compared to 5.35 meters for the earlier model. The exterior design introduces a full-width front LED light bar, dual horizontal grille slats, squared-off wheel arches, roof rails, and rugged door handles.

The powertrain lineup includes a high-performance plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup on the flagship 800 TSI version, producing over 470 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque for a sub-five-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time. In addition to the hybrid setup, a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine is offered for conventional utility duty.
