The second-generation Toyota Voxy, designated R70, arrived in June 2007. Accentuating its sporty image, trims like the ZS incorporated aggressive aero body kits, clear taillight lenses, and dual-projector headlights. Interior enhancements included rotating captain chairs and improved sound insulation across seven- and eight-seat configurations.

Under the hood, the R70 featured 2.0-liter 3ZR-FE and 3ZR-FAE Valvematic engines generating up to 158 horsepower, paired exclusively to Super CVT-i transmissions with paddle shifters on high-end grades. Drive choices included front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The 2010 facelift updated the front bumper and rear lighting clusters.
