Subaru Legacy VII (BW/BT) gallery (2019–2025)

Unveiled at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, the seventh-generation Subaru Legacy (BW sedan) migrated to the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), achieving a 70% increase in torsional stiffness. The engine lineup replaced the outgoing 3.6-liter flat-six with a new 2.4-liter FA24F direct-injected turbocharged flat-four (260 hp) for XT models, alongside the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter FB25D (182 hp), both linked to a Lineartronic CVT and AWD. The engineering setup effectively combined the low center of gravity inherent to the horizontally-opposed engine layout with a rigid chassis frame, delivering precise handling and composure across dry pavement and slippery surfaces alike. Engine bay packaging ensured optimal front-to-rear axle weight distribution alongside efficient thermal cooling under sustained driving loads.

The interior was highlighted by a portrait-oriented 11.6-inch Starlink display and the DriverFocus facial-recognition monitoring safety system. A 2022 facelift refreshed the front fascia with bolder LED lighting. Subaru announced the discontinuation of the Legacy sedan line following the 2025 model year. Designers placed a strong emphasis on cabin ergonomics, occupant visibility, and long-distance driving comfort. Robust mechanical reliability across the drivetrain and suspension components helped establish this generation as a benchmark choice within its competitive market segment worldwide.
