Subaru Legacy VI (BN/BS) gallery (2014–2020)

Debuting at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, the sixth-generation Subaru Legacy (BN sedan) was offered exclusively as a four-door sedan, as the wagon counterpart was fully consolidated under the Outback moniker. The body utilized high-tensile steel to increase rigidity while acoustic glass reduced NVH levels. Engine choices included a refined 2.5-liter FB25 flat-four (175 hp) and the 3.6-liter EZ36D flat-six (256 hp), paired with Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD. The engineering setup effectively combined the low center of gravity inherent to the horizontally-opposed engine layout with a rigid chassis frame, delivering precise handling and composure across dry pavement and slippery surfaces alike. Engine bay packaging ensured optimal front-to-rear axle weight distribution alongside efficient thermal cooling under sustained driving loads.

A 2017 facelift introduced reshaped bumpers, revised LED headlights, updated interior infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and third-generation EyeSight capabilities. Sixth-generation production concluded in 2020. Designers placed a strong emphasis on cabin ergonomics, occupant visibility, and long-distance driving comfort.
