The third-generation Nissan Leaf transitions to a new modular electric platform with 53 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, featuring a dedicated factory Nismo package.
The third-generation Nissan Leaf represents a comprehensive technical evolution, migrating to the alliance's modern dedicated electric architecture shared with contemporary crossovers and the technical twin Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback EV. Moving away from the legacy ZE1 platform, the model introduces an aggressive aerodynamic exterior design with 19-inch wheels, a completely overhauled cockpit layout featuring advanced digital instrument displays, and optional Recaro sport seating.
The electric powertrains are reorganized into distinct tiers: the B5 variant featuring a 53 kWh battery pack and a 174 hp electric motor, and the flagship B7 variant equipped with a 75 kWh battery delivering 214 hp. Chassis dynamics have been heavily enhanced with a dedicated Nismo variant featuring frequency-selective dampers, stiffer suspension subframe mounts, bespoke steering calibration, and specialized regenerative braking programming driving the front wheels.
