2027 Nissan Pixo Debuts With 80-HP Electric Motor And 161 Miles Of Range

Nissan has revived the Pixo nameplate, transforming it into a compact, city-focused electric vehicle. Positioned below the upcoming Renault 5-based Micra, the new model is the result of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance's shared technical architecture. While the original Pixo was a badge-engineered Suzuki Alto manufactured in India, this second generation is built on the same foundation as the new Renault Twingo and second-generation Dacia Spring. Production will take place alongside the Spring at Renault's assembly plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Nissan gave the hatchback its own visual identity with Hyundai Ioniq-style pixel accents at the front and rear, though the silhouette remains closely aligned with its French sibling.

Under the skin, the 2027 Nissan Pixo features a 27.5-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that provides a WLTP driving range of 161 miles (259 kilometers). Supporting 50-kW DC fast charging, the pack can replenish from 15 to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes. It also offers 11-kW bidirectional charging capability. Propulsion comes from a single front-mounted electric motor producing 80 horsepower and 129 lb-ft (175 Nm) of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 12.1 seconds. Compact city dimensions include an overall length of 149.5 inches (3,796 mm) and a tight turning circle of 32.5 feet (9.9 meters).

Inside, the cabin shares a 98.1-inch (2,492 mm) wheelbase with the Twingo and retains physical buttons and knobs rather than relying entirely on touchscreen controls. The dashboard incorporates modern tech, including Google's Gemini AI assistant and Face ID for driver recognition and custom settings. Cargo volume measures 12.6 cubic feet (356 liters), expanding to 43.1 cubic feet (1,221 liters) when folding the independent sliding rear seats—a feature absent on the Dacia Spring, though the Pixo lacks a front trunk.

European deliveries are scheduled to begin early next year, with official pricing revealed this December. The Pixo is expected to start under €20,000, targeting rivals such as the resurrected Citroën 2CV, the production version of Volkswagen's ID.Every1 concept, and various Chinese electric offerings.
