2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Debuts With 225-HP e-Power Powertrain

Nissan has officially revealed the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid, introducing the brand's proprietary e-Power powertrain to the United States market for the first time. Although labeled as a hybrid, the vehicle technically operates as an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). This debut follows an earlier plug-in hybrid iteration of the crossover that was heavily based on the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, but the 2027 model represents a distinct, dedicated next-generation series-hybrid solution.

Under the hood, the Rogue Hybrid utilizes a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine functioning exclusively as an onboard generator. It charges a compact 1.67-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, which in turn feeds two electric motors driving all four wheels. Drivers never need to plug into an external charger, as the vehicle refuels with gasoline at standard filling stations. The combined powertrain produces 225 horsepower. According to Nissan's internal estimates, the crossover achieves an EPA-equivalent rating of 38 mpg combined, returning 40 mpg in city driving and 36 mpg on the highway.

Visually, the 2027 Rogue Hybrid features a sharper, more modern design highlighted by a honeycomb grille, integrated LED headlights, and revised LED taillights, with a full-width rear LED light element available on select trims. The sport-oriented SR grade adds unique front and rear fascias, specialized trim, and gloss black accents. Nissan offers eight exterior paint colors, alongside five two-tone combinations paired with a contrasting black roof. Inside, the cabin comes standard with dual 12.3-inch displays supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, expandable to 14.3 inches on higher trims. The flagship Platinum model includes a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system. Luggage space measures 31.1 cubic feet behind the second row and expands to 65.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will arrive in the United States in stages. The Rogue Hybrid SR AWD equipped with the SR Tech Package launches first in fall 2026, carrying a starting price of $43,065. The remaining trim lineup will follow in early 2027: the entry-level SV AWD starts at $37,065, the SR AWD begins at $39,065, the SV AWD with SV Premium Package is priced at $39,165, and the top-tier Platinum AWD commands $45,065. All listed figures include a $1,575 destination charge. A conventional non-hybrid Rogue with a 1.5-liter turbo engine will launch later next year, expected to align closely with the current crossover's $31,035 base price.
